Potential Feasibility Study of Applying Reservoir Sediment to Greening Soil
The sediment from the residential drinking water reservoir was selected as the soil for greening, and the harmful components in the sediment were tested and known to be lower than the"Planting soil for greening"(CJ/T 340-2016).Reservoir sediment was dried, fragmented and passed through a 40-mesh standard sieve, mixed with ceramsite and coconut coir, and two sets of orthogonal experiments were designed under the factor of whether or not it was mixed with organic fertilizer, while direct mixing of wet reservoir sediment with a moisture content of 51%-60%was used as a control experiment to grow Chinese-cabbage,Short-feet-yellow and May-slow,respectively.According to the growth and germination time of three kinds of vegetables, observing and recording the germination number of vegetables for four days, and the survival germination rate of vegetable seeds for eight days. The results of the experiment show that the reservoir sediment pretreated by drying and crushing is more conducive to the germination of vegetable seeds with the admixture of organic fertilizer,in which the growth and germination of Chinese-cabbage is the best, the average survival germination rate at eight days is 85.6%.May-slow followed by,is 65.5%.In contrast, the survival and germination of vegetable seeds in wet reservoir sediment with a water content of 51%-60%,mixed with organic fertilizers,do not exceed 60%.This experiment proves that vegetable seeds can survive in the reservoir sediment, and the sediment from residential drinking water reservoirs can be applied to green soil.
