Centered on the media in the area where three Guangdong model chronicle museums are located,this paper objectively presents the general features of the media communication of the chronicle museums in Guangdong and their four major media images in both internal and external media forms,with the regional characteristics of chronicle museums consid-ered.The author has selected the reports on chronicle museums from nine mainstream newspapers and four news websites as research samples for external mass media.As for the self-owned new media,the author has selected the official websites and WeChat official accounts of Guangdong Chronicle Museum,Guangzhou Chronicle Museum and Shenzhen Chronicle Mu-seum to study their information dissemination.Multiple methods have been used in the research,including content analysis,word frequency statistics and textual analysis.The author hopes that the chronicle museums can learn some lessons from the current situation of their media communication and media images to speed up their development,optimize media communi-cation,and comprehensively improve the public cultural service capabilities of local chronicles.
