The Pingxiang County Chronicle of Kangxi Reign is a rare annalistic chronological record among ancient chronicles.It followed the example of the Luanzhou Chronicle of Jiajing Reign,intended to bring its style close to that of history books.Its compilation features a style of chronological narration and a combination of narration and discussion.Al-so,at the end of each volume,there are chapters of Appendices,Doubts and Error Correction.Through this chronicle,we can basically understand how an annalistic chronicle gives a complete account of the conditions of a place.This chronicle is of great value in the history of chronicle compilation,and the historical literature it has left behind is valuable too.
