The Donghai Collection authored by Zhang Bi is the best portal for people to learn about his life experiences,behaviors and artistic activities.The editions of Donghai Collection are generally divided into two systems.The first system originated from a block-printed edition made by Zhang Hongzhi in the 13 th year of Zhengde Reign in the Ming Dynasty(1518).Most of the existing copies are printed copies of the supplemented Zhang Hongzhi Edition.This system also in-cludes two other existing editions reprinted in the Zhengde Reign:Zhou Wenyi Edition and Rixin Printing House Edition.The second system originated from a block-printed edition made by Zhang Shishou in the 32nd year of Kangxi Reign in the Qing Dynasty(1693).In this system,the supplemented edition reprinted by the Jiahui Printing House in the 36th year of Kangxi Reign includes the largest number of articles,and there was another revised edition reprinted by Zhang Chongming in the Daoguang Reign.
