The year of 2023 saw abundant fruits of local chronicles study,which mainly involve eight research aspects:basic theories of local chronicles study,chronicle compilation,development of local chronicles,chronicle history and local chronicles study history,chronicle collation and utilization,chronicle review and research,chronicle figures and local com-prehensive yearbooks.A review of these fruits shows that this years research have made some breakthroughs,such as pla-cing equal emphasis on"compilation"and"utilization",paying attention to quality control,and improving research weak-nesses.But it also reveals insufficient attention to theoretical research and disproportionally high amount of research on old chronicles.To promote the high-quality development of and facilitate transformation of local chronicles,this paper suggests increasing the training of high-quality professionals,and developing excellent culture,exploring service paths,enhancing service capabilities,and building the academic and discourse systems of local chronicles.
