Esophageal carcinoma,as a common malignant tumor in the upper digestive tract,is closely as-sociated with dysbiosis.Current standard clinical treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. In recent years, antimicrobial biomaterials have emerged in the field of antibacterial and antitumor therapy. These materials not only inhibit the growth and spread of bacteria but also serve as drug carriers.By utilizing the targeting and controllable release properties of antimicrobial biomaterials,anti-tumor drugs can be pre-cisely delivered to tumor tissues or tumor cells, thereby inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and metastasis,a-chieving precise tumor treatment.Antimicrobial biomaterials exhibit good biocompatibility and biodegradability, holding tremendous potential in the prevention and treatment of esophageal carcinoma. This review summarizes the latest advances of antimicrobial biomaterials in the treatment of esophageal carcinoma,as well as their safety and efficacy in therapy.
