Esophageal cancer is a life-threatening gastrointestinal malignant tumor with extremely poor prognosis and high mortality.Although combination therapy is available,the patient's 5-year survival rate is still low.In the past few years,a large number of researchers have used TCM(traditional Chinese medicine)to induce apoptosis of cancer cells.This review summarizes the molecular mechanisms of TCM inducing apop-tosis in esophageal cancer cells.
