Construction of a Nursing Workload Quantification Scale Based on Relative Value Scale
Objective To construct a clinical nursing workload quantification scale based on the Resource-based Relative Value Scale(RBRVS)and provide a scientific basis for quantifying clinical nursing workload. Methods The nursing workload quantification scale was constructed by assigning values to working hours and medical risks based on the RBRVS.The coefficient assigned to each nursing service item was determined using the Delphi method. Results For the 2 rounds of expert consultation, the positive coefficient was 75%and 100%respectively,the authoritative coefficient was 0.92,Kendall's coefficient of concordance was 0.327 and 0.412 respectively(P<0.01 for all),the mean value assigned to each item was>3.00 and the coefficient of variation was<0.35.A total of 114 nursing service items were finally determined, with 57 items(50.0%)as-signed values ranging from 0.1 to 0.9,36 items(31.6%)assigned values ranging from 1.0 to 1.9,14 items(12.3%)assigned values ranging from 2.0 to 2.9 and 7 items(6.1%)assigned values≥3.Conclusion The clinical nursing workload quantification scale formed based on the RBRVS can objectively and reasonably re-flect the clinical nursing workload in our hospital and serves as a reliable basis for allocating nursing workforce and evaluating work performance.
