Effects of Dyadic Coping Combined with Mindfulness-based Interventions on Quality of Life and Neg-ative Emotions in Patients with Lung Cancer
Objective To explore the effects of dyadic coping combined with mindfulness-based interventions on the quality of life and negative emotions of patients with lung cancer, aiming to provide a reference for improving the quality of life of these patients. Methods From August 2022 to February 2023,99 patients with lung cancer and their spouses were selected by convenience sampling. The patients had undergone thoracoscopic radical resection in the North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital and Tangshan Gongren Hospital. The patients and their spouses were divided into the control group(n=33),dyadic coping group(n=33)and dyadic coping+mindfulness-based interventions group(the combination group,n=33)by lottery. The scores of the Dyadic Coping Inventory(DCI),European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 items(EORTC QLQ-C30)and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)before, after and four weeks after intervention were compared among the 3 groups. Results Before intervention, the scores of DCI,EORTC QLQ-C30 and HADS among the three groups were not significantly different(P>0.05).After intervention and four weeks after intervention, the DCI scores of the dyadic coping and the combination group were higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the HADS and EORTC QLQ-C30 scores of the two groups were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the DCI scores of the combination group were higher than those of the dyadic coping group(P<0.05),and the HADS and EORTC QLQ-C30 scores of the combination group were lower than those of the dyadic coping group(P<0.05).In the 3 groups, the DCI,EORTC QLQ-C30 and HADS scores after intervention and four weeks after intervention were superior to those before intervention(P<0.05).In the combination group, the DCI,EORTC QLQ-C30 and HADS scores four weeks after intervention were superior to those after intervention(P<0.05).The changes in DCI,EORTC QLQ-C30 and HADS scores among the three groups of patients were statistically significant in terms of inter group effects, time effects and interactions(P<0.05).Conclusion Dyadic coping combined with mindfulness-based interventions is worthy of clinical promotion and application as it has been shown to improve dyadic coping abilities, enhance quality of life and relieve anxiety and depression in patients with lung cancer.
