OBE-guided and BOPPPS-based Instructional Design and Practice in Teaching Nursing Management
Objective To explore the practical effect of outcome-oriented education(OBE)-guided instructional design in teaching Nursing Management,aiming to improve the classroom teaching effect of specialty courses and advancing the cultivation of nursing talents.Methods To address the"difficulties in initiative,understanding and resilience"in teaching Nursing Management,a new teaching mode was developed based on the BOPPPS model and guided by the OBE concept.The teaching mode was implemented with 74 senior nursing undergraduates in the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Nursing from September 2021 to April 2022.Then,the teaching effect was evaluated through questionnaire surveys,after-class reflections and group reports.Results More than 90%of these students were satisfied with the overall instructional design and learning effect,and 100%participated in online and offline discussions.Based on after-class reflections submitted by students and the case design analysis focused on continuous improvement of clinical nursing quality,this instructional design successfully enhanced students'interest in learning and their comprehensive abilities and achieved specialized knowledge teaching objectives.Conclusion Implementing an OBE-guided and BOPPPS-based instructional design in teaching Nursing Management can effectively enhance nursing undergraduates'mastery,understanding and application of classroom knowledge.This approach fosters a sense of achievement and forms a positive cycle of learning.
