Songnen Plain is located in the north of the Northeast China Plain.With the development of industry and agriculture,the environment of the Songnei Plain has been greatly changed,which results in changes of the lake environment.27 lakes in the Songnen Plain are selected as research object.Water samples in these lakes are collected from June to August in 2008.Trophic state indexes (TSI) of the Songnen Plain are calculated by using the evaluation model of eutrophication of lakes.The results show that total nitrogen,total phos-phrous and permanganate index in lakes of the Songnen Plain are generally high.Permanganate indexes of 27 lakes are 6.5-49.76 mg/L.Lakes in the Songnen Plain except for Dabusu and Balipao Lakes are used to culture fish,which may result in organic matter increasing.Total phosphorus content of 27 lakes are 0.051-3.29mg/L.Among these lakes,total phosphorus of Niuxinjtaobao and Cile lakes is 0.05-0.1mg/L,and total phosphorus is 0.1-0.2 mg/L in Nanshan,Keqin,Yueliang,Xinmiao,Maoxing,Lianhuan,and Chagan lakes.Total phosphorus is 0.2-1.0 mg/L in Xinhuang,Dalonghu,Qijia,Lamasi,Sanyong,Laojiangshen,Dabusu,Kuli,Xiaolonghu,Talahong,Qingken and Bali lakes.Total phosphorus is higher than 1.0 mg/L in Etou,Yangsha,Huaao and Yamudange lakes,and total phosphorus in Yamedange lake is highest.According to total phosphorus and permanganate index,water quality of 27 lakes in the Songnen Plain is considered to exceed III class.According to total nitrogen,it is considered that water quality of few lakes is II - V class,and that of most lakes is inferior V class.The comprehensive evaluation of eutrophication shows that all lakes are in eutrophiclevel and their trophic state indexes are all higher than 54 except for the Niuxintaobao Lake,which is in meso-trophic level with the trophic state index being 53.69.The contrasting analysis of the water quality between Yueliang Lake and Chagan Lake in different periods shows that TP and TN in both lakes rise gradually,and degree of eutrophication increase with time.
