Investigation and Dynamic Analysis of Waterbird Resources in Dagu River Estuary Wetlands of Jiaozhou Bay
Dagu River estuary wetlands in Jiaozhou Bay are important stopover on the south-north migration route of waterbirds.During the three-year period from 2019 to 2021,the surveys of waterbirds resources were conducted in the Dagu River estuary wetlands, and a list of waterbird species was established.Monthly changes in the numbers of waterbird species and individuals were studied, and the diversity of waterbird communities was analyzed using three diversity indices. The research results indicated that during the surveys,96 species of waterbirds were recorded in the Dagu River estuary wetlands, belonging to 6 orders and 14 families,of which the numbers of species and individuals of Charadriiformes were the highest.Among 96 species of waterbirds,6 species viewed as the national first-grade protected wild birds were recorded, including Baer's Pochard(Aythya baeri),Nordmann's Greenshank(Tringa guttifer),Saunders's Gull(Saundersilarus saundersi),Relict Gull(Ichthyaetus relictus),Chinese Crested Tern(Thalasseus bernsteini),Chinese Egret(Egretta eulophotes),and 13 species are the national second-grade protected wild birds, including Whooper Swan(Cygnus cygnus),Greater White-fronted Goose(Anser albifrons),Baikal Teal(Sibirionetta formosa),Smew(Mergellus albellus),Common Crane(Grus grus),Eurasian Curlew(Numenius arquata),Eastern Curlew(Numenius madagascariensis),Ruddy Turnstone(Arenaria interpres),Asian Dowitcher(Limnodromus semipalmatus),Great Knot(Calidris tenuirostris),Broad-billed Sandpiper(Calidris falcinellus),Black-necked Grebe(Podiceps nigricollis)and Eurasian Spoonbill(Platalea leucorodia). In 2019,2020,and 2021,the total numbers of waterbird species in the Dagu River estuary wetlands was 80 species,87 species, and 74 species, respectively, and the total numbers of waterbird individuals was 148 213,141 388,and 84 471,respectively.The Shannon-Wiener diversity index(3.438)and Pielou evenness index(0.554)of waterbird communities in 2021 were both the highest, and the Simpson dominance index(0.219)of waterbird communities in 2020 was the highest. In 2019,2020,and 2021,the dominant species of waterbird communities in the Dagu River estuary wetlands in Jiaozhou Bay were Common Shelduck(Tadorna tadorna),Dunlin(Calidris alpina),and Grey Plover(Pluvialis squatarola). In the future,in the Dagu River estuary wetlands,it is necessary to increase the scope and intensity of investigation on waterbird resources,in order to obtain more comprehensive data on waterbird resources in the wetlands,to understand the choices of waterbirds for their living environment, and to reduce the interference of human activities on waterbirds.
