Spatial and Temporal Distribution Characteristics of Small and Microwetland in the Lower Reaches of Huolin River in Western Jilin Province
Small and micro wetlands that are ignored in the conventional wetland survey and protection due to their small area, also play an irreplaceable role in indicating ecological environment changes, improving local climate and protecting biodiversity.Based on the high spatial resolution images in 2005 and 2020,combined with the field investigation, the distribution and change data of small and micro wetlands in the lower reaches of Huolin River in western Jilin Province were obtained, and the distribution, quantity and changes of small and micro wetlands in the study area were analyzed with the support of ArcGIS spatial analysis and statistical methods, and the main conclusions were as follows:the total area of wetlands in the study area in 2005 is 63 186.00 hm2,and the area of small and micro wetlands is 3 789.55 hm2,accounting for 6.00%;in 2020,the total area of wetlands is 79 703.04 hm2,and the area of small and micro wetlands is 5 877.73 hm2,accounting for 7.37%,and the absolute area and proportion of small and micro wetlands increased significantly. In 2005,the absolute dominant type of small and micro wetlands in the study area was pit water surface, with an area of 2 131.39 hm2,followed by ditches, with an area of 811.55 hm2.In 2020,small and micro wetlands in the study area are also dominated by pit water surface, with an area of 2 831.31 hm2,followed by ditches, with an area of 2230.22 hm2,and the absolute area and proportion of ditches have significantly increased. From the spatial aggregation characteristics, the small and micro wetlands were mainly distributed in Tongyu County in 2005,mainly in pits and ditches. The area of small and micro wetlands in Taonan City and Da'an City increased significantly in 2020,and canals dominated the area. The center of gravity of the small wetland moved to the northeast for 16.7 km.The main reason for the spatio-temporal change of small and micro wetlands is the reconstruction of wetland and saline-alkali land to develop paddy fields in western Jilin province, and the addition of ditches to meet the irrigation demand. With the support of high-resolution remote sensing technology,a preliminary study on information extraction, distribution and spatio-temporal changes of small and micro wetlands in the region was carried out, providing a basis for ecological agriculture planning and wetland ecological protection in the region.
