The present paper,reexamining the history in which scholars of Padua University vehemently debated the editions of Aristotle's works at the turn of the sixteenth century,asserts that,thanks to the concerted effort made by Byzantine scholars and Italian humanists,the authoritativeness of Greek edition of Aristotle's works was finally established and this work disenchanted Aristotle's thoughts and furthered the seculariza-tion of Aristotle's theories by breaking the old Christian thinkers'interpretative monopoly.
