The present paper,analyzing why Yu Liang's northern expedition won support from established hereditary houses such as Wang Dao in the early Eastern Jin and how the middle-and lower-level officers separated themselves from the old Beifu military system,argues that,from the angle of leaders of migrants and qiaomin(people migrating from the north to the south),changes in which the Eastern Jin would be re-placed with Liu Yu's Song could be traced back to the mid-Eastern Jin.
