On the Interconnected Interaction of Promoting Consumption and Practicing Frugality
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,General Secretary Xi Jinping has emphasized the need to expand domestic demand,and stimulate consumption,but also work hard,and practice thrift.Although expanding consumption and practicing thrift may seem contradictory,from a macro perspective,they are inherently unified.And there is an urgent need to deepen understanding of their dialectical relationship.Expanding consumption is the driving force of socialist economic development,aimed at meeting the needs of the people for a better life and embodying the principle of common prosperity.Thrift is the"primary law"of socialist economy,aimed at the accumulation of wealth through labor and embodying the realization of common prosperity.Only by promoting each other and achieving dialectical unity can the tremendous advantages of socialism with Chinese characteristics be demonstrated.Therefore,in the new era,we should give full play to the advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics,highlight the use of technological innovation as the"primary driving force",and promote the interactive synergy between expanding consumption and practicing thrift in various aspects such as consumption and saving concepts,consumption patterns and saving methods,ecological civilization construction,party building,and social management.This will continuously promote economic development and gradually achieve common prosperity,with the people's health as an important standard.
