Optimization of Canadian oil sands bitumen upgrading process
The optimization of the atmospheric and vacuum distillation-solvent(n-pentane)deasphalt-ing-blending modification process was carried out on the diluted crude oil from Canadian oil sands. The results showed that the optimal extraction conditions were extraction temperature at 180 ℃,solvent to oil ratio(volume ratio of solvent to vacuum residue)at 8:1 and extraction pressure at 4.4 MPa.The syn-thetic oil was prepared by blending the deasphalted oil produced under above optimal conditions with the atmospheric and vacuum fractions in proportion, and adding the diluent(naphtha)with the volume frac-tion of 16.5%,which could not only meet the re-quirements of Canadian pipeline oil transportation standards, but also reduced the diluent dosage by 45%-52%.Moreover,the obtained deoiled asphalt could effectively improve the high-temperature per-formance of the base asphalt, and be used as an ad-ditive component to upgrade hard asphalt with ex-cellent performance.
