Aestheticism,Aesthetics of Ugliness,New Aestheticism:on the Evolution of Aesthetic Criticism
Aesthetic criticism is the foundation of all literary criticism,and the apparent or latent condition for other forms of literary critique.Since the reform and opening up,various foreign theories have expanded the horizon of literary research,but they have also led to a lack of artistic analysis and aesthetic evaluation in literary criticism.Researchers dissect their subjects with theoretical concepts,catering to various preset theoretical conclusions.Consequently,China's literary scholarships have been constantly wavering between de-ideologization and ideological criticism,de-aesthetic rationality and aesthetic rational criticism,and other binary oppositions.This paper will sort out the academic history and disciplinary history of the generation and evolution of aesthetic literary principles,analyze the development and evolution from aesthetics to ugliness critique to new aestheticism,reveal its historical and cultural context and intellectual academic origins,and seek a new balance between the restoration of the aesthetic autonomy of traditional aesthetics and the radical stance of contemporary anti-aestheticism using dialectical rationality.It will find a common path for aesthetic criticism from the study of literary classics and popular culture,strengthen the role of aesthetic criticism in providing a rectification mechanism for the"construction of the three major systems:the disciplinary system,the academic system,and the discursive system",and provide a way of thinking for constructing a new paradigm of aesthetic criticism.
