Fallen Leaves Returning to Roots:An Empirical Study of Communication Factors of Peasants'Perspective on Aging and Dying under the Grey Hair Wave
In the process of rural revitalization,China is facing an irresistible challenge of aging population. The perspective on aging among the elderly in some regions is connected to various communication factors. As one of the important forms of intergenerational communication, the frequency of digital reciprocity is positively related to the traditional perspective on aging among the female elderly in rural areas, which theoretically confirms that the symbolic interaction theory applies to the communication of the female elderly in rural areas in China in terms of digital reciprocity, while the risk perception of the living environment has negative moderating effects on the relationship between the frequency of traditional media use and the traditional perspective on aging and dying, and the relationship between digital reciprocity and the traditional perspective on aging and dying, which verifies that the microsystem theory of the ecosystem theory applies to the communication of the elderly in some rural areas in China. As this discovery is based on the sample of a certain area, the findings could shed some light on the theoretical proposition of subcultural group theory for the communication of the perspective on aging among the elderly in China.
