The research content is an important component of the research system in Chinese environmental history.The determination of the specific content of environmental history requires clear academic and scientific supports,i.e.,defining the concept of"environment"in environmental science,clarifying the connotation and extension of the concept of"environment",and based on its environmental classification and in combination with the actual history of China,divides the Chinese environmental history into three categories:history of environmental changes,history of environmental thought,and history of environmental protection.The construction of the research content system is only a part of the academic system for the study of Chinese environmental history.In the process of constructing the three major"systems"of Chinese environmental history research,the academic community should follow three basic principles,i.e.,revisiting theory,focusing on China,and emphasizing history while developing the primary research content systems of Chinese environmental history,in order to achieve the goal of developing an academic system tailored to environmental history research with Chinese characteristics.
