Talent cultivation is the core mission of world-class universities,and talent cultivation evaluation plays a guiding role in the implementation of this mission by universities.As China enters a new period of historical development,the innovation-driven development strategy puts forward higher requirements for top talent cultivation,while there still exists a significant gap in talent cultivation between China's top universities and world-top universities.In this context,this paper intends to propose ideas on the construction of an index for assessing talent cultivation in world-class universities,oriented by educational evaluation reform,focusing on the very top indicators measuring the excellence,innovation,and globalization of talent cultivation.To provide suggestions for improving top talent cultivation in China's top universities and address related issues,we investigate strategies to promote the reform of assessing talent cultivation.Specifically,simplify the evaluation system by reducing the number of indicators,optimize measurement tools by selecting key indicators,highlight indicators of poor performance by giving them more weight,and rationally use the evaluation indicators.
