Has the Implementation of Innovation-Driven Development Strategy Promoted Transformation of Economic Development Mode:An Empirical Study Based on Provincial Panel Data in China
The Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China has made a major deployment to implement the innovation-driven development strategy,while local governments have formulated implementation plans based on their specific characteristics.Taking the provincial administrative units in Chinese mainland as the research object,this paper constructs an indicator system to measure the transformation level of economic development mode,including economic structural adjustment,scientific and technological development,social development,and sustainable resources and environment development.It evaluates the transformation of the economic development mode of each province,and uses the panel data from 30 provincial administrative units from 2006 to 2022 to examine the impact of the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy on the transformation level of the provincial economic development mode.The results indicate that the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy not only significantly improves the level of transformation of provincial economic development mode,but also has a significant promoting effect on all four dimensions of this transformation.
