An Analysis on the History of the Classical Textbooks Being Revised in the Tang Dynasty
There were three periods in which the classical textbooks were revised in the Tang Dynasty.A lot of views about the classical textbooks presented before Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty.In Taizong period,Yan Shigu revised the classical textbooks Wu Jing.Then Kong Yingda added notes and commentaries to them.So the classical textbooks had become unified.Because of the influence of An Lushan's rebellion,there were many other views appeared with Wu Jing in the middle and late Tang Dynasty.At that time,Zhang Can and lots of intellectuals revised the Wu Jing again.Meanwhile they copied Wu Jing on the wall of the imperial college in Daizong period of the Tang Dynasty.Later they again copied them on the hard wood.When Zheng Tan being in power,Wu Jing were engraved on the stones,which were named Tang Shi Jing.There were objections and controversies about every revision of the classical textbooks in the Tang Dynasty,however,the status of Confucianism could be consolidated through every revision.
