From the inception of the Five Ministers'overseas research expedition,the modernization of Chinese law began to unfold gradually.As reforms and legal amendments persisted and deepened,Western legal knowledge streamed into China continuously.In the process of integrating Western and Chinese legal scholarship,legal experts played an indispensable role.By examining the series of accomplishments and significant contributions of legal scholar Xu Mo during the Republican era in legal research,judicial practice and diplomatic endeavors,it becomes evident that modern China's engagement wasn't solely rooted in absorbing Western concepts,but also involved active participation and impetus in advancing global legal scholarship and the progress of the rule of law.
