"Common Development"or"Independent Development"?——The Relationship between the Reform of Farmland Property Right System and the Rural Grassroots Democracy
The relationship between reform of rural land property right system and the grassroots democracy has aroused broad discussion in the academic circle since the rural reform in China. This paper analyzes the villagers'cognition of the farmland property right and the impact on their political participation by empirical study. It reveals the relationship between the property rights system for rural land reform and the rural grassroots democracy. The research shows that the villagers'personal farmland property right has no influence on their political participation, and the rural collective property right can be accepted by villagers, which has played an important role in rural grassroots democracy.Villagers'individual characteristics have no positive effect on their political participation, and the higher annual income and the less they care.In giving villagers individualized land property right,we must devote ourselves to innovating collective property rights and collective economy during the reform of rural land property right system, which can promote the development of grass-roots democracy.
