Local applied undergraduate universities are crucial for fostering practical,composite talents who are dedicated to"serving the country and benefiting the local community".As such,the growth of the social work major in these institutions requires a practical teaching system as its primary driving force,enhancing both professional recognition and the quality of service provided.In the context of practical teaching,there are several challenges faced by universities,including the disconnection between theoretical and practical instruction,the ossification of practical teaching methods,and the lack of crossover between social work and other characteristic disciplines.Furthermore,the insufficient integration with engineering,science,agriculture,and medical fields not only hinders the development of these majors but also severely undermines the effectiveness of serving the strategic needs of national modernization.Given these circumstances,reform is urgently needed.As a result,local applied undergraduate universities should strive to establish an integrated teaching model that caters to the economic and social development needs of the region,timely adjust practical teaching programs,facilitate the integration and advancement of disciplines,and collaborate with multiple parties to help construct and improve the integrated development model of social work.
