Environmental history represents a significant shift in historiographical paradigms and an expansion of the historical research landscape.The exploration of environmental issues and the dynamic between humans and nature are pivotal in understanding modem Chinese history,which has garnered increasing attention within ma-instream academic circles in recent years.Research in this field is rapidly advancing;however,numerous the-oretical questions remain to be thoroughly investigated.This study aims to explore the potential establishment of paradigms such as environmental history or historical ecological interpretations following the precedents of"revolutionary history"and"modernization"within the framework of modem historical research.It also seeks to chart pathways and methodologies for ongoing development and advancement within the field of environmen-tal history.By incorporating considerations of natural factors and conducting analyses of ecological relation-ships,insights into the foundational aspects of modern Chinese historical movements can be gained.Employing correct ideological approaches and effective analytical tools to construct coherent frameworks and select perti-nent topics,this research endeavors to provide a comprehensive examination of the evolution of the socio-eco-nomic-natural complex ecosystem in modern China.Such an approach aims to elucidate the contemporary roots of environmental and ecological challenges,offering valuable perspectives for Chinese-style moderniza-tion,particularly in the realm of ecological civilization construction.
