Phenotypic diversity of fruits and seeds of Magnolia grandiflora superior trees
The fruits and seeds were collected from 11 superior trees of Magnolia grandiflora in Zhengzhou City of Henan Province,and their phenotypic variations were studied.The result showed that the phenotypic variations of the fruits and seeds were diverse,and the phenotypic differences of fruits and seeds were significant between different superior trees;There was a very significant positive correlation between the fruit length and the seed number and a significant positive correlation between the fruit diameter and the seed number;The fruit length and diameter presented a positive correlation with the seed length and width;The fruit length and diameter and the seed length and width were key phenotypic characters of the fruits and seeds.
