Effects of warm water treatment on physiological indexes of pakchoi under cold stress
In order to study the physiological response of pakchoi under warm water treatment to cold stress, the heat-resistant variety of pakchoi'Xinxiaqing'was used as the experimental material, and treated with warm water irrigation under cold stress. The effects of warm water irrigation on the biomass, osmotic regulators, antioxidant enzymes, and photosynthetic electronic transport of pakchoi under cold stress were studied. The results showed that the biomass of pakchoi, including dry and fresh weight, stem diameter and leaf area increased effectively under 35 ℃ water irrigation;soluble sugar and soluble protein increased by 30.1%and 46.0%,respectively;the content of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b increased by 32.5%and 13.2%;and the activity of SOD,POD,CAT was also significantly improved;the relative conductivity, the content of malondialdehyde and hydrogen peroxide were significantly decreased;the photosynthetic rate and transpiration rate increased by 47.3%and 61.6%,respectively;the actual photosynthetic efficiency of photosystem Ⅰ and Ⅱ of pakchoi increased by 42.3%and 60.9%,respectively.This study provides new ideas for future cold tolerance breeding on horticultural crops.
