Effects of compound substrate with different proportions on common bean seedling quality and anti-oxidative enzyme activity
To better address the disposal problem of vegetable residues of Solanaceae, this paper studied the effects of the compound substrate on common bean seed germination, seedling quality,SPAD value, and antioxidant enzyme activities by using vegetable residues of Solanaceae as raw materials, chicken manure, and fermentation bacterial agents as additives. The results showed that when compound substrates were mixed with 1/4 of fermented Solanaceae residues without additives, the leaf SPAD value of common bean seedling increased by 30.74%(P<0.05),the length and surface area of common bean seedling root increased by 31.09%and 43.15%,respectively(P<0.05).Superoxide dismutase(SOD),Peroxidase(POD)and Catalase(CAT)enzyme activities of common bean seedling increased by 5.74%,6.07%and 4.77%,respectively(P<0.05).Also,when compound substrates were mixed with 1/4 of fermented Solanaceae residues with chicken manure, the leaf SPAD value of common bean seedling increased by 27.26%(P<0.05).Superoxide dismutase(SOD)and Peroxidase(POD)enzyme activities of common bean seedling increased by 2.04%and 2.18%(P<0.05).Moreover,when compound substrates were mixed with 1/4 of fermented Solanaceae residues with chicken manure and fermentation bacterial agents,Superoxide dismutase(SOD),Peroxidase(POD)and Catalase(CAT)enzyme activities of common bean seedling increased by 4.10%,4.23%and 4.39%,respectively(P<0.05).Therefore,compound substrates mixed with 1/4 of fermented Solanaceae residues without additives,or 1/4 of fermented Solanaceae residues with chicken manure,or 1/4 of fermented Solanaceae residues with chicken manure and fermentation bacterial agents, were suitable for common bean seedling cultivation.
