'Hudao 68'is a high-quality rice variety suitable for direct seeding,developed by the Crop Breeding and Cultivation Research Institute of Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences(SAAS).This variety contains genes resistant to herbicides,has strong lodging resistance,and shows low occurrence of diseases in the field.It also exhibits good resistance to rice blast disease,excellent comprehensive agronomic traits,and is suitable for mechanised direct sowing and simple cultivation model.Tested by the Rice and Product Quality Supervision and Testing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs,the rice quality of this variety meets the requirements of the national standard for high-quality first-class edible japonica rice varieties.This paper mainly introduces the breeding process,main characteristics,key cultivation techniques,and the promotion and application of this variety.
