Edible and other functional development and application of Camellia species
Under the framework of the"all-encompassing approach to food",the multifunctional development of plant resources has garnered increasing attention.Camellia species,with their long cultivation history and solid research foundation,hold significant potential for diverse applications.Owing to the bioactive compounds found in their leaves,fruits,flowers,and other organs,Camellia species have been increasingly utilized in sectors such as tea production,edible oil,daily chemical products,and pharmaceuticals.This review highlights recent advancements in the research and application of Camellia species across edible,cosmetic,and medicinal domains,aiming to provide insights into their multifunctional development and sustainable utilization.
