In this study, three new varieties(lines)of Jiading white broad bean and the control(local broad bean,Sanbaidou and 'Lingxiyicun')were used as experimental materials.Comparative experiments were conducted on the growth potential, main economic traits, and yield of six broad bean varieties(lines).Grey correlation analysis was used to comprehensively evaluate them,in order to provide reference for broad bean breeding and production in Shanghai and areas with similar climate. The results showed that the yield of new line 12-3-H was the highest, which was 27.92%higher than that of local broad bean(CK1),11.28%higher than that of Sanbaidou(CK2),and 33.94%higher than that of 'Lingxiyicun'(CK3).The equal weight correlation degree and weighted correlation degree of the tested varieties(lines)were all above 0.65,indicating that the correlation degree of the tested varieties(lines)was strong and the comprehensive traits were excellent.Based on the equal weight correlation degree, weighted correlation degree and plot yield, six broad bean varieties(lines)were ranked. The correlation degree and yield of 12-3-H were ranked second and first, respectively. The test materials were divided into three groups by cluster analysis. The first group belonged to the germplasm with strong branching and more pods, the second group belonged to the germplasm with more multi-seed pods and high yield, and the third group belonged to the germplasm with large pods.In the breeding of new varieties of broad bean, the effects of pod weight per plant, grain size and podding on yield should be considered, and the traits such as plant height and branch number should be taken into account. The equal weight correlation degree, weighted correlation degree and yield of 12-3-H were excellent, and it had the potential to be widely planted in Shanghai and areas with similar climate.
