摘要
亨利·詹姆斯通过福楼拜评论,对福楼拜小说的叙事形态进行了独到的分析,他认为福楼拜的小说叙事形态和文体风格绝非如埃德蒙·杜朗蒂等人所言之"冷酷漠然""枯燥乏味",而是强调对社会现实进行一种客观冷静、超然无我的观照.福楼拜小说这一独特的叙事形态是他对19世纪法国社会变迁的艺术反映,亨利·詹姆斯评论福楼拜对客观真实的认知以及呈现的方式已经与传统理念分道扬镳,彰显出福楼拜在新的历史场景中对小说道德内涵的理解和艺术创作方法上的创见.
Abstract
Henry James developed a unique analysis of the narrative form of Flaubert's novels through his review of Flaubert's literary works.He believed that Flaubert's narrative form and literary style were not"cold and indifferent"or"dull and boring"as Edmund Duranti and others said,but emphasized an objective,calm,and selfless observation of social reality.The unique narrative form of Flaubert's novels is his artistic reflection of social changes in 19th century France.Henry James commented that Flaubert's cognition of objective truth and the way it is presented have diverged from traditional concepts,highlighting Flaubert's understanding of the moral connotations of novels in new historical scenes and his innovative artistic creation methods.
