Osteoarthritis is used be described as a degenerative disease,but now more and more evidence shows that metabolic disorder-induced inflammation is involved in the development of the disease.This article reviews the roles of metabolic and inflammatory factors in the occurrence and development of osteoarthritis,and discusses the application prospect of metabolic therapy in clinical management of osteoarthritis.
