The rate of cesarean delivery(CD)has increased significantly worldwide in recent years,which can cause certain physical and psychological disturbance to puerpera.Postpartum depression(PPD)is a public health problem that poses significant risks to both mothers and newborns,and the impact of CD on PPD has received widespread attention.Current research suggests that CD,especially emergency CD,may exacerbate prenatal anxiety and postoperative pain,affect postpartum breastfeeding,thereby increasing the risk of PPD.The potential biological mechanism may be due to the influence of CD on hormone secretion and the central inflammatory response.This article reviews relevant research progress and clinical evidences to analyze the relationship between CD and PPD,to provide reference for early prevention and intervention of PPD.
