Diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)is the most common complication of diabetes, the etiology and pathogenesis of which are unclear, making it difficult for early diagnosis and treatment. It has become a consensus that metabolic factors play an extremely important role in DPN.In recent years, with the development of metabonomics, the relationship between amino acid metabolism and DPN has received high attention. This review summarizes the relationship between amino acids changes and the development of DPN,to explore biomarkers and pathogenesis of DPN for its prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
