Ultrasound Doppler parameter changes of ocular artery and optic nerve sheath width in pregnant women with fetal growth restriction
Objective To investigate the association of ultrasound Doppler parameter changes of ocular artery and optic nerve sheath width in fetal growth restriction(FGR)pregnant women with birth weight of newborns. Methods Twenty pregnant women with FGR and 30 matched normal pregnant women were enrolled in Shanghai First Maternal and Infant Health Hospital from July 2022 to April 2023.Ultrasonography was performed in both groups, the general conditions, pregnancy outcomes, ocular artery Doppler parameters and optic nerve sheath width were compared between two groups. The association of maternal ophthalmal artery Doppler parameters and optic nerve sheath width with birth weight of newborns was analyzed. Results The ocular artery peak ratio(PR)value of FGR pregnant women was significantly higher than that of normal pregnant women, and the optic nerve sheath width in the mild FGR group was significantly higher than that in the severe FGR group;and the PR value was negatively correlated with the birth weight of newborns(P<0.01).Conclusion The PR value of the ocular artery in pregnant women with FGR is significantly increased, suggesting that PR value mignt be used as an indicator for FGR and birth outcomes for pregnant women.
