論戰國陶文在學術史及書法史上的意義
On the Significance of the Pottery Inscriptions from the Warring States in the History of Scholarship and Calligraphy

戰國陶文在戰國文字發展史、先秦歷史與地理和書法史研究等方面具有重要價值.戰國文字研究的起始直接導源于古陶文的發現與鑒藏,吴大澂對"古文"性質的基本認識與研究路徑也來源于戰國陶文與秦陶文體勢風格與文字結構的差異,爲後來王國維的相關研究奠定了學術基礎.戰國文字分域研究與古陶文的發現也有重要關聯,古陶文資料整理、分域研究和書法研究也得益于戰國文字分域研究的學術進展.戰國時期各國戳印陶文和刻劃陶文雖大體上有正俗體之别,但是内部也有極爲複雜的文字面貌,在研究陶文書法藝術中需要加以具體觀察分析.在歷史和地理研究方面,戰國陶文也有不少争議的問題,齊、韓、燕諸國陶文之間的關聯性值得注意,需要結合考古學的成果加以討論.
Abstract
Pottery inscriptions from the Warring States have important research value for the study,for example,of the history of Warring States characters,of pre-Qin history and geography,and of calligraphy history.The study of Warring States characters began with the discovery and collection of ancient pottery inscriptions.For instance,Wu Dacheng's(1835-1902)foundational understanding of and research into the ancient script(guwen)came from the recognition of the differences in style and character structure between pottery inscriptions from the Warring States and those from the state of Qin,and this provided the basis for the later research by Wang Guowei(1877-1927).Research on the regionalization of Warring States characters is also closely related to the discovery of ancient pottery inscriptions.The compilation of ancient pottery inscriptions,regional studies and calligraphy research also benefited from academic progress in research into the regionalization of Warring States characters.Although the characters stamped or carved on pottery inscriptions can generally be divided into official and popular forms,on the internal level they have widely varying features;specific observation and analysis are therefore needed when studying the art of pottery calligraphy.Many of the issues regarding the historical and geographical information provided by the pottery inscriptions of the Warring States are unsettled.The correlations between the pottery inscriptions from the states of Qi,Han,and Yan is of particular interest and needs to be discussed alongside the results of archeological research.
