Face Reproduction:An Effective Intermediary Mechanism for the Points-based Governance-Based on the Experience of Community Governance of T Village in Zhejiang Province
Endogenous power shortage is a long-term problem of rural social governance in our country. In recent years, the points-based emerged in some rural governance has mobilized the enthusiasm of villagers and promoted the governance level of rural society.Existing studies have explored the effectiveness of the points-based system in rural governance from the perspec-tive of clear governance, but there is a lack of in-depth exploration of why it can play an effective role.Through the field investigation of T village in Zhejiang Province,it is found that the points-based is an innovative practice that combines the task of bureaucratic governance with the needs of rural areas. The core of its effectiveness lies in the fact that the points-based gives social attrib-utes and constraints to"face"and activates the traditional governance function of"face".Among them, the governance attribute of the score index activates the sociality of"face",the operation process of the score evaluation realizes the normalization of"face",and the way of presenting the score results exerts the constraint of"face".The activation of traditional governance resources by the points-based system not only improves the modern rural governance system, but also pro-motes the development process of returning traditional governance experience to modern govern-ance.
