Study on the origin of invigorating spleen and warming kidney in the treatment of type 2 diabe-tes mellitus
Diabetes mellitus belongs to the category of"xiaoke"in traditional Chinese medicine.There are discus-sions about the relationship between spleen and kidney and xiaoke in ancient literature.The concept of spleen in traditional Chinese medicine not only includes the physiological function of spleen itself,but also covers the physiological function of pancreas in modern medicine.Based on the theory of"spleen and pancreas sharing the same origin"and the understanding of pancreas in modern medicine,the relationship between Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney and the occurrence of xia-oke is analyzed.The endocrine function of the pancreas belongs to the spleen,and the exocrine function belongs to the kid-ney.Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a disorder of body fluids metabolism caused by pancreatic dysfunction.Based on the current situation of our country and the changes of people's constitution,it is proposed that the Yang deficiency of spleen and kid-ney is a common syndrome of type 2 diabetes mellitus.In addition to the commonly used treatments such as nourishing Yin and clearing heat,strengthening spleen and warming kidney is also one of the important treatment methods for type 2 diabe-tes mellitus.
