Clinical observation of massage manipulation in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation of"in-creased lumbar curve"type based on the theory of"the importance of tendon and bone balance"
Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of massage manipulation in the treatment of lumbar disc her-niation(LDH)of"increased lumbar curve"type based on the theory of"the importance of tendon and bone balance".Methods:A total of 70 LDH patients of"increased lumbar curve"type from the outpatient department of massage of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into observation group(35 cases)and control group(35 cases)by random number table method. The patients were treated with massage manipulation based on the theory of"the importance of tendon and bone balance"and conventional tendon release manipulation for 2 courses, respectively. The lumbosacral angle, lumbar range of motion, visual analogue scale(VAS)score,Japanese Or-thopaedic Association(JOA)score and other conditions were observed. Results:The reduction of lumbosacral angle in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the improvement of lumbar range of motion in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).VAS scores and JOA scores in the observation group were significantly improved when compared with those before treatment, which were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The massage manipulation in the treatment of LDH of"increased lumbar curve"type based on the theory of"the importance of tendon and bone balance"can significantly reduce the lumbosacral angle, correct the enlarge-ment of lumbar curvature, relieve its clinical symptoms, and improve the function and mobility of lumbar spine.
