Treatment of post-stroke facial paralysis with plum-blossom needle combined with successive flash cupping based on differentiation of channels and collaterals
Facial paralysis is one of the common clinical symptoms after stroke. The clinical manifestations are divided into central facial paralysis and peripheral facial paralysis according to the different responsible lesions, and central facial paralysis is more common. The facial nerve and trigeminal nerve are often involved in most patients, which severely restricts the motor function of facial expression muscles, thus affecting patients' daily life and social activities. At present, clinical treatment often focuses on improving the function of facial expression muscles, and pays little attention to facial paresthesia.Based on the theory of differentiation of channels and collaterals of TCM,this study explores the essence of stroke. The com-bination of plum-blossom needle and successive flash cupping in the treatment of post-stroke facial paralysis can play the roles of promoting Qi to activate blood, warming the channel to dispel coldness, filling the meridians, freeing the circulation of Qi and blood, and nourishing the tendons, which can not only effectively improve the function of facial expression muscles, but also alleviate facial paresthesia, with significant clinical efficacy.
