Experience of couplet medicines in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis based on the theory of Pain Caused by Spleen Deficiency
Rheumatoid arthritis is a"wangbi"symptom in traditional Chinese medicine,and it is caused by external exposure to wind,cold and damp pathogens and obstruction of meridians.The reason why the pathogenic factors can invade the human body is that the healthy Qi of the human body is deficient.Chief physician Wan Lei,adhering to the principle of the Xin'an School of Medicine of reinforcing the vital essence and strengthening the primordial Qi,believes that the basic pathogenesis of the disease is deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality.Deficiency in origin is mainly due to spleen deficiency while wind,cold,phlegm,dampness and blood stasis are the keys to excess in superficiality.At the same time,Wan Lei is good at using couplet medicines in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis from the point of the spleen and adjust-ing the Chinese medicine formula according to the symptoms,which achieves remarkable clinical effect.Based on the theory of Pain Caused by Spleen Deficiency and combined with medical cases,this paper analyzes and summarizes the clinical experience of chief physician Wan Lei in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with five groups of couplet medicines for the readers,namely,Huangqin-Fuling,Guizhi-Shaoyao,Danggui-Huangqi,Weilingxian-Jixueteng,and Sangjisheng-Niuxi.
