Clinical observation on 30 cases of diabetic foot ulcers treated with polymethyl methacrylate technique combined with Qufu Shengji Paste
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of the polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA)technique combined with Qufu Shengji Paste in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs).Methods:Sixty patients with Wagner grade 3-4 DFUs were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, with 30 cases in each group.Patients in the treat-ment were treated with debridement,PMMA technique and Qufu Shengji Paste, while patients in the control group were treated with debridement, vacuum sealing drainage(VSD)technique and Qufu Shengji Paste. After six weeks, traumatic ul-cer area, granulation tissue area, treatment costs, hospital stay, wound healing time, and overall effective rate were com-pared between the two groups. Results:Compared with before treatment, after six weeks both groups showed significantly reduced ulcer areas and increased granulation tissue areas and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Com-pared with the control group, the treatment group had a smaller ulcer area, more granulation tissue, shorter hospital stay and wound healing time, lower treatment costs, and a higher overall effective rate(96.67%),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:PMMA technique with Qufu Shengji Paste has good clinical efficacy in treating DFUs.It is particularly effective in reducing ulcer size, promoting granulation tissue growth, shortening wound healing time and hospital stay, and reducing treatment costs. This approach is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
