Lateral Floating Dock Transfer Scheme for the Fuel Tank Ring Section of Large Container Ships
Based on the parameters of the floating dock and the fuel tank ring section of a large container ship,a study is conducted on the scheme of lateral transfer of the ring section to the floating dock. The NAPA software is used to perform ballast water loading of the floating dock to be used for lateral transfer,to obtain a reasonable lateral transfer loading plan.At the same time, the PATRAN software is used to conduct finite element analysis on three typical working conditions(shelving, transporting, and pier landing)during the lateral transfer process of the fuel tank ring section,to verify the feasibility of the scheme. The results show that the fuel tank ring segment and floating dock model of large container ships meet the structural strength requirements, and the deformation of the tank segment is within a reasonable range, indicating that the lateral transfer of the fuel tank ring segment to the floating dock scheme is feasible. This study can serve as a reference for the design and construction of floating dock structures, such as the lateral connection of liquefied natural gas tank sections or other floating body launches in the future.
