Wall Design and Gas Diffusion Analysis of Methanol Bunkering Station for Container Ships
In the design of methanol dual fuel vessels, the design of the methanol bunkering station is important.Taking a certain type of container ship as an example, numerical simulation is used to analyze the gas diffusion characteristics when methanol leakage occurs in the methanol bunkering station under various wind directions. The effects of different wall designs on reducing gas hazard areas are compared, and a design scheme for the methanol bunkering station wall is provided along with the design basis. The calculation results show that this design can change the situation that previous designs are mostly based on the liquid cargo header area of chemical ships, without considering the situation where the deck surface of general transport ships is a non-hazardous area, thus avoiding the design of the bunkering station to be a semi shielded or open area, effectively avoiding danger and preventing the expansion of toxic areas.
