Therapeutic efficacy observation of electroacupuncture in the treatment of facial neuritis
Objective To observe the immediate and long-term therapeutic effects of the Chuaixue-Cutong electroacupuncture in the treatment of facial neuritis.Method A total of 80 patients with facial neuritis were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups were given basic treatment, the control group was treated with traditional electroacupuncture staged treatment on the 7th day of the onset of the disease, while in the observation group, the degree of nerve damage was determined according to the results of surface electromyography on the 7th day of the onset of the disease and thus Chuaixue-Cutong electroacupuncture staged treatment was carried out.On the 7th,30th,60th and 90th days after the onset of the disease, the patients were assessed by the self-developed symptom rating scale,Sunnybrook facial grading system(SFGS),facial disability index physical function(FDIP)and facial disability index social function(FDIS).The changes of surface electromyography(amplitude of compound muscle action potential(CMAP),F data and curve, and nictitating reflex of facial nerve branches)were observed on the 7th and 30th days after the onset of the disease;on the 90th day after the onset of the disease, the clinical efficacy and sequelae of the two groups were compared.Result The self-developed symptom rating scale,SFGS,FDIP and FDIS scores of the two groups at each time point after treatment were statistically significant when compared with those of the 7th day of the onset of the disease(P<0.05);the FDIP score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group on the 30th day of the onset of the disease(P<0.05);on the 90th day of the onset of the disease, the SFGS score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the FDIS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The change in the FDIS score from the 7th day to the 90th day of onset in the observation group was more notable than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The surface electromyography data of both groups were better than that before treatment(P<0.05),and the difference between groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The recovery rate was 95.0% in the observation group and 65.0% in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of sequelae was 2.5% in the observation group and 17.5% in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion On the basis of basic treatment,Chuaixue-Cutong electroacupuncture method is more effective than traditional electroacupuncture method in the treatment of facial neuritis, which can significantly improve patients'immediate physical function and later social life function.
