This paper reviews the research progress on the extraction method and pharmacological action of proanthocyanidin.The main extraction method of proanthocyanidin include organic solvent extraction method,ultrasonic extraction,enzymes extraction and supercritical fluid method.The pharmacological action of proanthocyanidin include regulating immune,anti-inflammation,lipid lowering and live protection,protection of intestinal injury and brain function,prevention and cure atherosclerosis,Uv reactive skin protection,nervous system protection and eye protection,etc.
