A Strategic Study of the Involvement of Regional International Organizations in the Governance of STEM Education——Based on an Examination of the European Schoolnet
Although major European countries attach great importance to STEM education, many systemic factors still limit the ability of a single country to improve the effectiveness of education.Additionally, the shortage of human resources remains a prominent problem in the region. In order to solve the systemic problems, the European Schoolnet has developed a"one body, two wings"governance strategy from the perspective of regional strategy, coordinating the relationship between schools, governments and industry. It has achieved positive results by building educational communities for schools, widening educational outreach channels, supporting teachers'professional development, and organizing cross-border exchange activities. In relation to the government,it influences the development of national strategic policies and regulates accreditation standards for school education.Towards the industry,it dynamically integrates with the scientific and technological needs of industry and develops a platform for educational practice and innovation.By examining the functions and roles of the European Schoolnet in the governance of STEM education,it is possible to deepen the understanding of regional education governance in the context of global education governance.
